Since its inception in 1927, the Rural Fire Service has been servicing the community through the generation of 1584 Rural Fire Brigades, which includes 46000 volunteer RFB members throughout Queensland.

One of the key strategies of the Rural Fire Service is community awareness and public education about rural fire management. Public safety remains the priority in rural fire management. The protection of life is paramount whilst consideration must remain for the protection of the natural environment.

• Closeburn Rural Fire Brigade - Upgrading the station equipment and fire tenders.
• Assisting other Brigades and the Brigade Group - To improve their Equipment and Services.
